Dear Carer
Do you care for someone with dementia?
Do you need a break?
When my father in law was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease we all knew things would not get any easier...especially for my mother in law.
They had always enjoyed going away on holiday together, having peaceful days strolling around garden centres, visiting National Trust properties and sight seeing, and whilst she still wanted to do these things with him, at times it all seemed too difficut.
I am confident that I can give you a chance to get away together, somewhere you will feel comfortable and have the support you may need to make your holiday as restful and enjoyable as possible.
I would be delighted to show you the Devon coastline if you wish, take you on a trip to scenic Dartmoor, visit some local National Trust properties, and even the world famous gardens at the Eden Project- or if you prefer, stay closer to home and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Topsham, a beautiful estuary town.
I can also provide a sit-in service, enabling you to enjoy a stroll around Exeter Cathedral, perhaps followed by a quiet coffee and a bit of shopping-recharging your batteries, and giving you both a well-deserved break for a few hours.
I use local agencies with qualified staff who would be available to come in mornings and evenings to help with personnal care. The support you may have at home can then be continued while you are away on holiday.
If overnight help is required there are local agencies I can organise who will sleep in giving you the rest you may require.
I can prepare meals for you to pop in the oven and I will fill the fridge of the things you may need so that you don't need to think about the cooking or the shopping. There are also several wonderful pubs and restaurants in Topsham.
Please ring me for a chat and I hope I can answer any questions you may have.
I look forward to hearing from you
Sallie
